From just another simple Appalachia gal who grew up in those little hollers, getting saved in a little brick Missionary Baptist church up on a hill- I loved this. Thank you for sharing! ♥️
Thank you for sharing this about your Papaw. These stories bring light to my shattered past… these stories help me see the good instead of the bad. They remind me of how intricately knitted my own story is by my Lord.
What an amazing story!!!! You def have a treasured heritage. That heritage is something so many in our world haven’t had the privilege of enjoying. I loved your story!!!!!❤️
Oh that was just precious! My heart. My eyes filled with tears. Made me think of my poppi. The hymns he’d sing, playing hymns on the organ that made the whole house dance, his strong Irish hands, like steel, that were so tender and kind, kneeling by his bed to pray, praying blessings over us every time it was time to leave. I miss him. I’ll bet your papaw and my poppi are singing glory hallelujah together right now! 💞

I was saved at a church’s homecoming revival in a holler!
Ah homecomings in the south! Something I haven’t thought about in so long! They don’t do such things in the north!
Not even my church here does them anymore. They really are largely the domain of the smaller areas now. So sad.
That is sad!

His hand is present in even the hard places!
Thank you for sharing - this brought tears to my eyes.
I miss him every day!

The Lord blessed me with amazing grandparents. I am so grateful.
