I became a grandmother at 42 yrs old and have treasured every moment of it. Because of certain circumstances I am raising that grandchild and I strive to make sure he has memories of me that bring him joy and comfort when he is older. God always puts us where He needs us to be

As a “Mimi” now to two precious grandchildren, I enjoyed reading this today, Heather. I’m learning and growing in my role as a grandparent and I am cherishing this new chapter!

This is so beautiful! I’m 47 and A LOT of my friends are grandmothers now—and most of them are going by Marmee! Which is soooo cool! I love seeing my friends step into this role. It’s beautiful. My oldest daughter is 23 and hasn’t met a spouse yet, and my second oldest is a Catholic seminarian, so I don’t know yet when I’ll get to become a grandmother. But last year I had a surprise baby of my own at age 46 (after a 7 year gap) and sometimes I feel a little like HIS grandma! Haha.

I will try not to give up on my femininity. to continue to be womanly for my husband: long hair, form-fitting but modest clothes, make-up, hair dye, a fit figure. Isn't it so depressing to let go of looking nice? and as grandmas, we don't raise our grandkids. their moms do that. we get an occasional visit, if we're lucky.

Funny, I don’t feel at all unwomanly. But no, I don’t raise my grandkids— I step in any way my kids need to support them. ❤️
