“Where did the Titus 2 women go?”
I never thought to ask this as I began my own journey of new motherhood. It seemed painfully obvious to me that I was going backwards, to a place most of my peers had no intention of following. A handful of us had had mothers who were “stay at home moms.” The majority did not. Finding footsteps to follow felt nearly impossible. Where had all the Titus 2 women gone? Not to my neck of the woods.
One of the things I love about social media is the way that it connects us to people we would never meet otherwise. Over the years, I found my own Titus 2 mentors, and most of them lived in my computer. I was blessed to have woman go before me into homeschooling, and women to hold my hand (figuratively) through pregnancy loss, fostering, and adoption. I heard the advice of the mothers whose children were rebellious teens, and those whose kids never strayed. Could I have made it without these voices? Maybe. But oh, I’m so glad I didn’t have to.
I hear from women all the time now that they, too, have to find their encouragement and answers online. Could they use a search engine? I suppose, but the fact is that it’s not really about answers. It’s about relationship. You don’t form a relationship with Google. But with the woman who open their home to you day after day in small squares, or who are only a message away with their thoughts… yes, there is relationship to be had.
Personal advice makes all the difference. Building a connection allows you to not just solve a problem (Google can do that!) but to know that you’re not alone, that you are experiencing something normal, and that all this, too, points to the glory of God.
This is why I joined the Call Her Blessed bundle team. I was contacted personally by SarahRuth, someone whose adventures I had followed for years. She mentioned Jess, whose boys I would love to get together with my own some day. Have I ever met either of these women? No. But I see their hearts in action daily, and I know that anything they have put their heads together for is going to glorify God and build up women striving to serve Him in their own homes.
And that’s what I see as I look at the bundle. Women sharing their knowledge, passing on their wisdom, and being the ones to say, “Hey, this works for me. Give it a try!” Don’t believe me? How about:
Want to steer your kids clear of some of what Charlotte Mason refers to as “twaddle"? You need Korrie, aka Good Book Mom, and her Better Book Swap. It’s a list of popular titles and series alongside some more God-honoring options!
Need to get your life organized? Jess at Silo and Sage has you covered with a planner that not only includes a master cleaning list, budget worksheets, and homeschool pages, but also Biblical truth cards to get your mind organized as well.
Want to answer the command to offer hospitality? Brooke at lifeongracemeadowfarms offers easy recipes for a crowd, and frugal ways to stock up on the items that you’ll need if you plan to open your home regularly.
This is just the beginning of the wisdom shared in the Call Her Blessed bundle. If you are eager to bring more Titus 2 voices into your life, I encourage you to browse the contributor list and be inspired. This bundle offers insight on motherhood, spiritual growth, homemaking, homeschooling, family life, health and wellness, and so much more. Those questions you have that just aren’t answered by your peers? I bet you can find them here.
The Call Her Blessed bundle is $47, and is available until Monday, May 1. I am delighted to be a part of it, and hope that you will find great value and lifegiving, faith building resources in its offerings.
There are still Titus 2 women. We’re here. We’re reaching out. Please, join hands with us and let us continue in the work for which we were created: glorifying HIM!!!
In Christ,
Heather
